COMTORGAGE for Plastic Parts?
ABSOLUTELY!
| The example on the right is a Comtor Blade Gage custom designed to measure the inside snap groove diameter of disposable containers used for yogurt, cottage cheese, and sour cream. The gage incorporates six blades that are projected simultaneously presenting a peripheral contact, which covers virtually the entire circumference of the snap groove. The blades are under constant spring load, which "rounds out" the workpiece and overcomes the distortion that takes place when measuring such a flexible part by conventional methods. The snap groove must meet strict tolerance requirements in order for the lids to fit properly and ensure product freshness. |

| This gage, also a Comtor Blade Gage, was developed to check the minor diameter of threads inside a plastic closure. The gage consists of eight sliding contacts, equally spaced, to permit maximum peripheral contact. As above, correct spring pressure assures proper measurement without part distortion. Both gages are shown equipped with a CM2 Amplifier with +/- .006" Range and .0001" Resolution. For direct collection of SPC data, these and all Comtorgages can be mated with the Comtor Digital or the Comtor Coupler. |
